Its back to school again for the last term of the year.
The children have been on holidays and due to start school next week 16th September 2024. Most of the children performed better than last term and we expect them to pass their exams at year end. Aa we informed you in our term 2 fundraiser, in Uganda children must pass their exams to be promoted to the next class so we are trusting that they will continue to do well this last term of the year which is the most important one.
The need to fund for 3rd term school fees and school requirements is upon us. Our child sponsorship program includes school fees, school meals and other requirements such as school shoes, school bag, uniforms, extra tuition fees, spots uniforms, books, toilet paper and contribution towards school stationery such as typing papers.
It costs the equivalent of about £70 per child per month as children are reside at AFH home, so we cater for all the necessities such as food, clothing, beddings, water, electricity, medical care, staffing as the needs arise and we run project work as well to empower the children with learning saleable skills to teach them to fend for themselves when they leave Abba Father’s House. We are appealing for more donors to come alongside AFH Team to support the vital work we’re doing. The ever-rising cost of living is not favourable to us, but if more sponsors come along, we can continue serving God by touching these little vulnerable people’s lives. There is no pressure as people can donate what they can afford monthly so that a child can be sponsored by more than one person. We are appealing to you to stand with us to raise £1,800 for school fees and requirements for 22 children whom we are currently looking after.
Due to high postage costs, we only send children’s letters to sponsors who want to know about the child they sponsor. It is expensive to post or scan children’s letter, however we do make this available on request.
We send out quarterly newsletter and we recently set up a WhatsApp chat where we post regular updates from the home. Please send us your number if you would like to be included on the chat.
Despite the challenges we often face, we manage a day at a time and the outcome of our hard work pays when we see transformation and we are to be parents to these little ones who are the future leaders of tomorrow.
