Dear friends and supporters of Abba Father's House, we thank God for your lives and for your love towards the vulnerable children and widows we support.
You may have seen in the recent newsletter about how we are looking to find funds to ensure that Christmas as Abba Father's House is a special occasion for the children and widows. Christmas is fast approaching and it is that time of the year when all children expect and look forward to having fun. At AFH, Christmas day is very special because we usually invite children’s relatives who are able to visit the home and some of our widows to come and celebrate and spend the day together with the children and our staff members. It is always a joyous day which the children enjoy because of the lovely cooked food, cakes for the occasion, and the opening of Christmas presents.
In the past we have requested friends and partners to donate Christmas presents for children and then a group of people gather to arrange shoe boxes for individual children, and we then send them to Uganda. This arrangement was discontinued due to Covid 19 and we haven’t been able to resume it as life has never been the same.
Although we are not able to send shoe boxes as we use to, we can still buy the presents locally, wrap them and make the day special. Although things are different now, we believe that with your help, we can still team together and raise some funds to help the children to celebrate the special day. We’re therefore getting in touch with you partners to appeal for donations towards this good cause however small, so that together we can give our children a good time with presents to open on Christmas day.
As you’re aware, we also support widows and we have been helping them with financial donations to help them also to celebrate Christmas with their families as well. Please consider sending a donation towards widows if possible and specify if your donation is for widows or children.
No doubt times are challenging. However, we request you to share the love with a donation of any amount to enable us to buy presents locally in Uganda so that the children can receive some gifts to celebrate Christmas/New Year. £10 is equivalent to 43,000 Uganda shillings which can buy a present for a child. We also will be grateful for pledges towards the Christmas Dinner. Donations can be made online using the form below or contact Juliet if you want to send the donation directly -
We would be very grateful for your help towards raising £500 from this Christmas appeal to enable us to provide a decent meal and presents to both our children and the widows. The meal will also be shared by children’s relatives who will be able to come.
Thank you every so much for your contributions towards a good cause.
Wishing you a merry Christmas
Blessings to you
The AFH Team
